I can do interior and exterior painting; walls, ceilings, doors, window frames, roof fascias, bargeboards, soffits, eaves, gates, fences, benches, even anti-fouling paint on boat hulls! I have also worked with varnishes to make outdoor wood resilient to weathering.

I have been painting houses and boats for some twenty-five years.

The primary object with painting is preparation; removal of all old flaked, blistering or worn out paint and then sanding and smoothing to both provide a good adhesion of the outer new paint and also to ensure the finished surface looks as new as possible. There's no point in doing a quick fix job if in a years' time it has to be done again. I paint the eaves of a cottage in Argyll every two years; it is sited 10 metres from the sea and takes extreme weathering but 2 days spent preparing and painting makes it last another couple of years.

Where necessary, I can also remove rotten wood and timber and replace it or fill as necessary.
